*vent* Banks !
Published 1 year, 2 months ago in My life.My bank, in all their infinite wisdom, have taken it upon themselves to register me for their Netcode SMS service. Apparently this is the latest security measure in place for net banking. WELL…firstly, they didn’t ask my permission (first I knew of it was a letter advising me of the ‘upgrade’), nor did I request it; and secondly, IT DOESN’T WORK !!!
If they had bothered to ASK me if I wanted it I would have said no because I can’t get mobile phone service inside my house (and that’s a whole other vent). So tonight, while attempting to pay a large bill online I had to receive a Netcode SMS…so I did…and went outside in the rain to wait for the sms to come through. I got the message and tried to enter it several times and it kept telling me the code I was entering was incorrect (what, you think I’m a flipping moron or something ??).
So now it’s locked me out of my bank and I can’t pay the bill, and I have to call them tomorrow to sort out something THEY stuffed up in the first place !
Which bank ?…

ooooooooooo……….I hope my bank doesn;t do that……..cos I would vent big time !! You poor thing how frustrating.
They are making people use it now? I signed up for it and have had no problems, except for the times when I realise my phone battery is dead, after I’ve got all the information typed in. I find it fantastic, knowing that if anyone tries to transfer money from my account to another they also need my phone which doesnt leave my side. But to make people us this feature? What about people who dont have mobile phones?
Right, well I got it turned off this morning. The lady said the code probably expired before I got the message. She said I could have one of those little hand held code devices instead but I said I’d pass at this point, thanks anyway. I’ll continue to use my 2 security questions.
I hope no-one else has the same problem.
I’ve got Netcode & touch wood I havn’t had any problems with it. They did ask me whether I wanted it first though.
Glad you sorted it out. Don’t know why they set it up without asking first, bit rude.
Change your bank, go elsewhere if you can. They obviously don’t care about you.
