   During nook’s test stage (before the public launch mid-January) there were several additional themes.

   WonderWoman - and a few other nooklers like cacophony, pedant, bigmouth, jono, - each nominated some of the alternative themes available during those early tests.

   We found each theme behaved differently. Some provide a preview as to how posts would look, and others didn’t. Each gave a slightly different confirmation message on posts stored. And most had links arranged differently on the screen.

   It was decided that, for clarity’s sake, it would wiser to build all themes from a common template. That way we could be sure when explaining the site’s behaviour to members that we were all looking at the same thing. (During the teething stage of a site launch, it has been a far smoother approach than trying to document the various ways each template behaves).

   We are working on expanding the theme library in your dashboard to provide more choice. And as things settle down, we will also revisiting some of these other “test” themes to make them available for everyone.

   I was wondering the same thing about cacophony (http://cacophony.nook.com.au/) but no one’s replied…

   It would be cool if Nook members could upload different themes that themselves and other members could use instead of the standard ones… although to keep it from degenerating into another myspace, perhaps the themes would have to incorporate local photographs?

   Hi LadyChaos. I did see your earlier post and should have responded then. Sorry, we got distracted with other things.

   I would like a Port Phillip, or Mornington Peninsula Theme because that is where I live.

   I think there should be some more colorful settings rather than just two tone

   Some people got in early. they got the door prize. I can not even get a pic or a theme. So I guess I wait till something else comes along, so I too can have a pic or theme, and be like the other nooks that get this option. But good point why some and not others.

   Hey Admin…. I live in the Eastern Suburbs and really do not feel that any of themes represent me!! What about some more universal themes please
